So yeah, what the hell is this page all about?
Day to day we, Chris and Jan, the site administrators of Under-The-Mat.com, get asked what this page is all about and how it all started. It began really harmless in late August of 2007.
Most of us have been on another site and posted lots. One day, it went down and many of our work was lost. It restarted and is running up today yet, but many members disappeared and all work, posts and site contents were gone. The exact same thing happened to me, I worked my way up there and lost a lot of posts and work, but I didn’t mind it that much. It didn’t mean a lot to me, because I got to know Jan who’s become a very close friend of mine, to whom I’m talking almost everyday and together we decided: Why not give it a go and run an own wrestling page? So yep, we were friends with a lot of members on that wrestling site and voilà, we bought a webhosting package and opened Under-The-Mat.com which is greatly up and running to our pleasure.
In January 2008, I gave the site to Kurt Cobain (Jan) who now owns this place since our former webhoster had problems with his overall traffic limits. Anyway, the site is in good shape and not about to go down anytime soon. How did it continue? Well, members joined and we did some advertising all across the internet and got more people to join here. This is how it all started and without you guys, I know you’re reading this someday, it wouldn’t have been possible to get it running so smoothly. After all, we’re still new to the internet world and especially in the wrestling business. Yeah, you’re feeling the revolution right there. Go, and drop by today and become a member of the Under The Mat forums!
That my dear readers, was the history of this site. But, there’s one thing that hasn’t been answered yet: What’s Under The Mat today and what can I do around here? It’s simple, you just browsed one of the friendliest and open-hearted communities in the world wide web. We are Under The Mat and we showcase a wrestling fanpage for fans, produced by fans. If you’d like to read the latest news concerning the wrestling world, our newsboard is the place. If you’d like to look up a certain show or love to teach yourself something about the history of wrestling and sports entertainment, Under The Mat is also the place. And if you’d like to discuss about the latest shows or anything that’s on your mind, feel free to participate in our message boards. Everyday new members sign up, so hurry up and don’t waste time and join us today!
